Description

1880/79-CC Silver Dollar, MS66+
VAM-4, Reverse of 1878
Among the Finest at PCGS

1880/79-CC $1 Reverse of 1878, VAM-4, MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: JCS Collection. A Top 100 Variety. The obvious remnants of a 79 are visible within the 80 of the date, earning VAM-4 status as one of the most prominent overdates in the Morgan dollar series. This high-end Premium Gem example is conditionally rare. Frosty mint-fresh luster engulfs each side in bands of cartwheeling brilliance, while the central devices are sharply rendered. The coin is tied for the finest VAM-4 Morgan at PCGS. CAC: 31 in 66, 0 finer (7/19).
From The Shucart Family (JCS) Collection of Morgan Silver Dollars.
