1858 Flying Eagle Cent, MS66
Glistening Large Letters Type Coin
1858 1C Large Letters MS66 NGC. CAC. This beautifully
preserved type coin displays lovely rose-gold, lilac, and silver
hues over unabraded satin surfaces. Cartwheel luster illuminates
sharp design elements on each side, and a few tiny pepper specks
around the date do not detract. Premium Gem Large Letters coins are
rare, and finer pieces are almost unknown. NGC lists four MS66
examples of the 1858 Flying Eagle cent that are not designated
either Large or Small letters, one of which is this piece, housed
in a prior-generation holder. Census (Large Letters): 20 in 66 (1
