Description
PR64 Cameo Silver Restrike
1783 Draped Bust Washington Cent
Engrailed Edge, Baker-3A
1783 1C Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, No Button,
Engrailed Edge, Silver Restrike PR64 Cameo PCGS. Baker-3A, W-10380,
R.6. The well-made W.S. Lincoln "No Button, Large 3" silver
restrike, produced during the mid-19th century from copy dies with
thick legends. They are often confused with the W.J. Taylor
restrikes (Baker-3C) of the same era, identified by slender
lettering and a Small 3 in the date. The present Baker-3A example
has flashy fields and only a hint of gold toning. The portrait
shows minute die rust and the field near the chin has a pair of
minor flan flaws, all as made. Listed on page 80 of the 2013
Guide Book.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2B6U, PCGS# 688, Greysheet# 337)
