Description

1911-S Twenty Dollar, MS66+
Finest Certified at NGC

1911-S $20 MS66+ NGC. Plentiful in MS65, the 1911-S Saint-Gaudens double eagle is rare in this grade, especially with a Plus designation. Higher-grade examples are virtually unobtainable. The present coin is boldly struck and frosty, yielding rich wheat-gold luster and remarkably clean surfaces. Special notice is given to Liberty's figure, which is almost devoid of the typical contact marks on the high points. The quality of this coin might have earned full Superb Gem classification in years past, when grading standards were often looser than they are today. Census: 32 in 66 (1 in 66+), 0 finer (3/20).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26FL, PCGS# 9159, Greysheet# 10168)

Weight: 33.44 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
