1864 Gold Three Dollar, AU55
Challenging in High Grade
1864 $3 AU55 NGC. Ex: Suwannee River Collection. Coming from
a mintage of only 2,630 pieces, the 1864 three dollar gold had a
low survival in high grade. This Choice AU coin is conditionally
scarce. Bold design definition includes the wreath bowknot,
although slight high-point wear blurs the uppermost details. Luster
remains in the fields, and both sides have only light, uniform
