FS-303, Repunched Date
1867 Rays 5C Repunched Date, FS-303, MS64 PCGS. Wide
repunching on the 6 and 7 in the date is clear on this late die
state example of the Cherrypickers' FS-303 variety. Earlier
die states show portions of a 1 to the left of the primary 1, not
seen on the present example. The reverse displays numerous die
cracks, including a heavy one below CENTS. This near-Gem nickel is
well-struck with smooth fields and pleasing gold accents across the
