Description

Warmly Toned 1875-S Trade Dollar, MS65

1875-S T$1 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Type One obverse and reverse. All 1875-S Trade dollars were coined from the Type One obverse while the majority were also from the Type One reverse. The transition from Type One to Type Two for both hubs took place in 1875 and 1876. In 1876, known combinations include Type One/One, Type One/Two, and Type Two/Two.
The present piece is a sharply detailed with satiny silver luster and warm gold toning. Both sides have exceptional eye appeal. Although the 1875-S was one of the highest mintage Trade dollars, few Gem quality survivors are known today. Population: 20 in 65, 13 finer (12/08).(Registry values: N4719)
