Only a small percentage of the 144 proof Liberty quarter eagles struck in 1905 have enough mint frost to produce noticeable cameo contrast, but this magnificent Superb Gem exhibits startling black-on-gold flash when tilted in the light. Razor-sharp definition is present on all the design elements and the deeply mirrored fields show no mentionable defects, even on close inspection.
