1882 Seated Half, MS66
Colorful Old-Time Toning
1882 50C WB-101 MS66 PCGS. CAC. The low 4,400-piece mintage
is somewhat misleading because 80 to 120 Mint State examples still
survive. Most of those coins are in the MS63 to MS64 range, with
Premium Gem examples such as this coin distinct rarities as
circulation strikes. Many collectors opt for proofs to fill the
1882 slot in a high-grade collection. Flashy prooflike surfaces
slumber beneath the longtime patina acquired over the past 140+
years. Rotated in light, colorful iridescence introduces blue,
violet, and golden hues. The sharp strike and flashy mirrors earn
CAC endorsement. PCGS Population: 15 in 66 (1 in 66+), 4 finer.
