Description

1888-O $10 MS61 NGC. Variety 2. Just 21,335 pieces were struck -- a small mintage by most measures, but relatively robust for a ten dollar gold piece struck at the New Orleans Mint. This lightly abraded example retains its original prooflike flash in the protected areas. The strike is sharp across vibrantly lustrous, orange-gold surfaces that show evidence of die clashing on the reverse.(Registry values: N991)
