Description

1911-D 1C MS66+ Red PCGS. Ex: Jerald L. Martin Collection. A satiny, carbon-free Premium Gem example of this conditionally elusive Denver issue. The mintmark is weak from die fatigue on the obverse, although most major design elements are well-defined. The reverse is struck from a fresh die. Lincoln cents of this date and mint are scarce in MS66 Red and decidedly rare finer, even if by the margin of the Plus designation as the present piece is. Population: 67 in 66 (10 in 66+) Red, 2 finer (11/18).
