1852 $10 Assay Office Ten Dollar -- Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU.
K-12a, R.4. Two die marriages exist for the 1852 Assay Office
ten dollar Territorial Gold pieces. K-12a places the O in OFFICE
directly beneath the N in UNITED, while the rarer K-12 places the O
in OFFICE further right below the I in UNITED. This olive-gold
K-12a representative displays luster throughout the legends and
motifs, but the surfaces are mildly glossy from a long-ago wipe.
The letters in ATES OF are low relief and appear slightly
distorted. Listed on page 413 of the 2025 Guide Book.
