Description

Satiny Gem 1823/2 Dime
Large Es Reverse, JR-3

1823/2 10C Large Es MS65 NGC. JR-3, R.2. The diagnostic seventh star points to Liberty's headband. This satiny piece is fully patinated in orange-gold, gunmetal-blue, and olive shades. Gem Capped Bust dimes are highly elusive, and the present coin boasts not only a sharp strike, but also excellent surfaces and appealing color. The overdate feature is clear with a loupe, as the base of the 2 extends to the right of the 3, and the neck of the 2 is visible within the lower loop of the 3. A supremely important survivor.
