Description

1969-D Kennedy Half, MS67
Exceptional Multicolor Obverse Toning

1969-D 50C MS67 PCGS. The Denver Mint struck more than 129 million half dollars in 1969. Most, we guess, were melted for their 40% silver content decades ago. This is an extraordinarily well-preserved example. The obverse displays rich multicolored toning that takes in virtually the entire color spectrum. The reverse, however, is completely untoned. Quite a contrast. The satiny mint luster is disturbed by only the tiniest abrasions (get out your loupe). Population: 9 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (4/16).(Registry values: N208)
