Description

1945 Lincoln Cent, MS67+ Red
Rare CAC-Approved Superb Gem

1945 1C MS67+ Red PCGS. CAC. Ex: Jerald L. Martin Collection. Remarkably, the Philadelphia issue of this year is scarcer in high grade than either of the branch mint dates. This Plus-designated Superb Gem is among the finest at PCGS, an important acquisition for the competitive Registry Set collector. The surfaces are vibrantly lustrous, with lilac and olive hues emerging from the coppery-red patina. The strike is sharp and just a single, tiny carbon speck is detected, in the field behind Lincoln's shoulder. Population: 8 in 67+ Red, 0 finer. CAC: 20 in 67, 0 finer (11/18).
Ex: New York Signature (Heritage, 10-11/2015), lot 3069, which realized $3,290.
From The Jerald L. Martin Collection. (Registry values: N208)
