Elusive Issue in Gem Condition

1900-S 50C MS65 PCGS Secure. CAC. Ex: Shireman. This is a solidly struck Gem example of this difficult issue, showing cream-gray surfaces with little trace of color other than a faint sprinkling of tan patina seen only under magnification. A few tiny ticks on Liberty's neck are consistent with the grade, and a die crack runs along the base of the neck to star 13 and star 1. Population: 8 in 65, 4 finer. CAC: 4 in 65, 2 finer (11/15).(Registry values: N4719)
