1878 8TF $1 Pierced Eyelid, VAM-6, MS65 PCGS. CAC. The first Morgan dollar struck at Philadelphia in 1878 had eight tailfeathers, but due to a public outcry, the engravers prepared new hubs with seven tailfeathers, since eagles "never had an even number of tailfeathers."
