1825/4/(2) B-2 Quarter, AU55
5 Over 4 Guide Book Overdate
1825/4/(2) 25C B-2, FS-302, R.2, AU55 NGC. Tompkins Die
State 1/1. Three 1825 quarter varieties are known, and each is an
overdate. The rare overdate is the 1825/4/2 B-1. B-2 and B-3 are
more available, and show star 8 lower in the field relative to
Liberty's cap. This B-2 example displays pastel olive-gold,
cream-gray, and powder-blue patina. Well defined with noticeable
luster throughout raised areas. The surfaces are minimally abraded
aside from a few delicate field marks near the beak.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2012), lot 3453.
