1874-S Double Eagle, MS62
Lustrous and Moderately Marked
1874-S $20 MS62 PCGS Secure. Block S, one of three mintmark
styles known for the issue. A lustrous pumpkin-gold example of the
conditionally elusive Type Two design. The obverse exhibits a
smattering of small abrasions, while the reverse shows only
unimportant contact. The 1874-S is available in XF and AU grades,
but PCGS has graded only a handful of examples above the MS62
level.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AR, PCGS# 8972, Greysheet# 9921)
