Slanted 5, Frosty Luster
1856 G$1 Slanted 5 MS66 PCGS. Softly frosted greenish-gold
luster adorns this Premium Gem 1856 gold dollar. Neither side shows
distracting abrasions. The strike has localized areas of weakness,
along the lower obverse and upper reverse dentils as well as on the
85 of the date. Eye appeal is pleasing for the grade. The Slanted 5
variety is rarely offered this fine. Population: 14 in 66 (2 in
66+), 5 finer (11/19).(Registry values: N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C9, PCGS# 7540, Greysheet# 8017)
