Description

1890-CC Half Eagle, MS62
Wonderfully Original Survivor

1890-CC $5 MS62 PCGS. Winter 1-A. Matte green-gold surfaces contain light abrasions, making for a wonderful, original look. Weakness exists on the high curls and eagle's neck feathers. The Carson City Mint skipped half eagle production upon its reopening in 1889, saving this denomination's resumption for this issue. Production resumed at a level about three times that of the prior two Carson City issues (1884 and 1885), but the three remaining issues of the series have higher mintages.(Registry values: P2)
