1898 $5 MS66 NGC. The 1898 half eagle, like its contemporaries from the 1890s, is much more difficult to locate in high grades than most people give it credit for. This is a Registry-worthy Premium Gem with thickly frosted peach-orange surfaces and a bold strike. A thin graze near Liberty's chin is the only identifying imperfection.
