1888-O $1 Hot Lips, Doubled Die Obverse, VAM-4, Top 100, AU55 PCGS. CAC. A Top 100 and WOW! Variety. VAM-4 shows a dramatically doubled obverse die, seen most readily on the leaves in the cap and on Liberty's portrait. The deformed shape of the mouth gives this VAM its "Hot Lips" moniker. The present coin is typically weak on the high points of the central devices but shows little actual wear. Much luster remains in the fields, and each side has a hint of light champagne toning. Population: 54 in 55, 27 finer. CAC: 11 in 55, 12 finer (5/16).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2556, Variety PCGS# 133919, Base PCGS# 7308, Greysheet# 193647)
