Description
1911-D Quarter Eagle, XF45
Vibrantly Colorful Piece
1911-D $2 1/2 XF45 PCGS. The 1911-D Indian two and a half
issue is a key date with a low mintage of only 55,680 pieces, with
most of those in XF45 through AU58. This XF45 piece displays
original coloration that has matured through moderate circulation.
Radiant surfaces are deep orange-gold with vibrant undertones of
amber and rose. Areas showing uniform high point rub such as the
Chieftain's headdress, the eagle's wingtip and leg are accented in
luminous tones of silver. While the D mintmark is faint, a common
occurrence on this issue when it is circulated, the Chieftain and
the eagle are remarkably unabraded, delivering an overall aesthetic
that is colorful and pleasing.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# EGZ7, PCGS# 7943, Greysheet# 8615)
