Description
1892-CC Twenty Dollar, Choice AU
Scarcer Carson City Issue
1892-CC $20 AU55 NGC. Variety 1-A. One can appreciate the
low mintage of the 1892-CC to a greater degree if one remembers
that the 1892-S mintage is more than 34 times greater. Examples of
the '92-CC were exported into foreign bullion holdings, later to
return in the decades after World War II. The present coin likely
participated in that journey, probably to Europe and eventually
back home to America. It is a lemon-gold Choice AU twenty that
exhibits a nice strike and a generous portion of its initial
luster. Moderately marked overall, though we note a solitary
diagonal line on the cheek.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26C6, PCGS# 9020, Greysheet# 9951)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
