1834 50C Large Date, Large Letters, O-101, R.1, MS65 NGC. The pick-up points for O-101 include joined forecurls on the obverse and recutting on the vertical stand of the 5 in the denomination on the reverse. This frosty and smooth Gem example is lightly toned with bright silver luster accented by shades of peach-gold and pale-blue. The strike is crisp and sharp on most of the elements, with only minor incompleteness (as always) on some left-side stars and at A in STATES and the scroll below. A few light lines on the cheek are visible with a lens. Tied for second in the Condition Census per Steve Herrman's Autumn, 2016 listing.
