Description
1908-D Eagle, MS64+
No Motto Condition Rarity
1908-D $10 No Motto MS64+ PCGS. A challenging ten dollar
gold to find in Gem condition and pricey, too. This borderline Gem
is a good alternative, with smooth surfaces, exceptional rich-gold
color, and vivid mint luster. The strike is first-rate. A few
small, light hits on the cheek and a shallow line in the left
obverse field determine the grade.Just 210,000 pieces were minted of the No Motto variant. Another 836,500 coins were struck with the Motto for a total Denver mintage of more than 1 million pieces in 1908. Only the 1910 production was higher for the Denver Mint. This coin is far above average in eye appeal and overall quality for the issue. Population: 48 in 64 (4 in 64+), 8 finer (11/14).(Registry values: N4719)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28GH, PCGS# 8854, Greysheet# 9759)
Weight: 16.72 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
