Description
1927 Double Eagle, MS67
Unknown in Finer Numeric Grades
1927 $20 MS67 PCGS. Yellow-gold luster is bold with touches
of apricot and orange. Even for an issue that is known to "come
nice" and has Gem examples available by the thousands, this Superb
Gem stands out with its remarkably untouched surfaces that show
just a few luster grazes and a small mark hidden in the right-side
rays on the obverse, all of which pale in comparison to the
overwhelming eye appeal. Despite the 1927 double eagle's reputation
as a type issue, the date is a remarkable condition rarity at the
Superb Gem level. Population: 19 in 67 (2 in 67+), 0 finer
(6/16).From The Conch Collection.(Registry values: N4719)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26GG, PCGS# 9186, Greysheet# 10150)
Weight: 33.44 grams
