Description

1901 Morgan Dollar, PR62
Collectible Proof Date

1901 $1 PR62 ANACS. The Mint struck over 6.9 million commercial Morgan dollars in 1901, but the issue was decimated from melting and is almost uncollectible in Gem or finer. Many collectors have opted for one of the 813 proofs from 1901 instead. This deeply patinated PR62 is accented with hues of light-caramel and lilac, with surfaces marked only by a couple of tiny nicks to the right of Liberty's nose. Typical central softness shows. A couple small cracks appear in the upper left corner of the small size ANACS holder, but the slab integrity does not appear to be compromised.(Registry values: N1793)
