1877-CC Twenty Dollar, XF45
First Type Three CC Issue
1877-CC $20 XF45 NGC. Winter 1-A. Die line from tar 10 to
rim, clash marks above earlobe. The initial Type Three Carson City
double eagle issue, the 1877-CC has a mintage of just 42,565
pieces. While conditionally rare in Mint State, a number of
repatriated pieces have entered the market and the issue rates as
one of the more available in circulated grades. This luminous and
well struck orange-gold piece has light, even wear and scattered
marks across the surfaces. Slightly deeper color appears around the
devices.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2007), lot 3836.(Registry values: N1793)
