Description

1864 Copper-Nickel Cent, MS66+
Only One Coin Finer

1864 1C Copper-Nickel MS66+ PCGS. The 1864 is a less often seen copper-nickel Indian cent issue, as the majority of coinage in 1864 was of the new bronze alloy. This high-end Premium Gem example is conditionally rare. Only a single MS67 PCGS coin is finer at both services. The strike is sharp, and the glossy surfaces display well-preserved nickel-gold color. Population: 25 in 66 (2 in 66+), 1 finer (11/15).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 227K, PCGS# 2070, Greysheet# 1295)
