Description

1914-D Cent, MS66 Brown
Sole Finest Brown Coin at PCGS
Outstanding Coloration

1914-D 1C MS66 Brown PCGS. The 1914-D Lincoln cent is rare in MS66 regardless of color designation, and no examples are known finer. At PCGS, the top-grade population includes six MS66 Red coins and this single MS66 Brown coin (3/16). For a Brown representative, the present piece exhibits significant color. Coppery-orange luster shines through around the borders of the devices and the rims, and the interiors are cast in vivid steel-blue and violet toning. The strike is well-executed, and eye appeal is superb. A few tiny specks near the lower reverse border are hidden by the patina. This is a rare and important acquisition for the Registry collector.(Registry values: N4719)
