Description
1849 G$1 Open Wreath MS64 PCGS. Breen-6001. The "distant stars" variety with a different arrangement than its "close stars" successor. Breen referred to these as Small Head and Large Head, but the portraits were identical and any size difference was an optical illusion caused by the varied star placements. Honey-gold centers are framed by peripheral sea-green.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25B8, PCGS# 7502, Greysheet# 8008)
