Description

1814 1C Crosslet 4 XF40 PCGS. S-294, B-1, R.1. Just two die pairs were used to coin 1814 cents, and the varieties are readily distinguished by the style of 4 in the date. The present dark brown cent was coined a few degrees off center toward 4 o'clock but only the dentils are affected. The curls and leaves show moderate wear and the surfaces are smooth save for a small reverse rim nick at 2 o'clock. Our EAC grade VF30.
