1870 $3 AU53 NGC. A small mintage of just 3,500 pieces makes the 1870 scarce-to-rare in all grades. This straw-gold example saw brief circulation, but escaped into collector hands with only minor marks and slight wear on the high points. Soft mint luster remains in protected areas.
