Description
1961 Doubled Die Half, PR67
FS-801
1961 50C Doubled Die Reverse, FS-801, PR67 NGC. VP-001.
Discovered by a Young Numismatist and now included in the Guide
Book, the die doubling on this coin is dramatic. The pivoted
hub doubling seen here shows a strong spread in the letters of E
PLURIBUS UNUM and UNITED. The coin is brilliant throughout and
deeply mirrored, as one would expect. The surfaces are virtually
perfect. Rare in any grade and an important addition to a Franklin
half collection. Census: 26 in 67, 1 finer (7/19).Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2007), lot 3184.
From The Poulos Family Collection, Part II.
