1797 $10 Large Eagle -- Repaired, Improperly Cleaned -- NCS. AU
Details. BD-2, High R.4. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/b. A wire
brush was used to smooth the left and right obverse field, and the
profile also has a blurry appearance. The reverse is moderately
granular and displays horizontal hairlines across the stars. The
reverse rim has minor damage at 4:30. Still an affordable example
of this better early eagle die variety.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25ZY, PCGS# 8559, Greysheet# 9344)
