Arabic Numerals 1907 Twenty, MS65

1907 $20 Arabic Numerals MS65 PCGS. After the unsuccessful attempts to produce Augustus Saint-Gaudens' design in Ultra High Relief and then "Very High Relief," Charles Barber set about reducing the relief so this design could actually be struck with high speed presses. The result was the so-called "Arabic Numerals" issue, as seen here. This particular piece displays light reddish-golden color and bright, satiny mint luster. Sharply struck with the only marks of note located in the lower reverse field beneath the eagle's breast.(Registry values: N2998)
