Gem 1837 Medium Letters Large Cent With Plenty of Remaining Luster
1837 1C Medium Letters MS66 Red and Brown PCGS. We wholeheartedly recommend this coin to certified type collectors who value eye appeal as well as technical quality. Mostly glossy in texture, the surfaces display well blended orange-red luster and medium brown toning. There is not a single blemish that is worthy of mention--an expected feature for the assigned grade--but we do note an as struck die break through the words STATES and OF at the upper reverse border. The strike is bold, if not sharp in most areas. The single finest PCGS-certified example with a Red and Brown color designation (10/02).Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 1736, Greysheet# 1037)
