1883 No Cents Liberty Nickel, AU50
Split After Strike
1883 5C No Cents Liberty Nickel -- Split After Strike -- AU50
NGC. Both halves of an 1883 No Cents nickel that split cleanly
through the middle of the edge after striking, due to an improperly
prepared coinage strip. Each half appears normal on one side, but
the other side reveals the internal textures of the nickel alloy
coin. The coin lightly circulated and acquired rich cream-gray
toning prior to its separation.(Registry values: N14)
