S-152, Overdate Variety
1798/7 1C S-152, B-13, R.2 -- Cleaned -- PCGS Genuine. AU
Details. Breen Die State II, with slight rust development on
RICA, and a strait crack has started from the rim to the hair below
the knot. The obverse shows slightly porous surfaces while the
reverse has more granular textures, all on dark chocolate-brown
patina with lighter areas on the periphery and device high points.
A loupe reveals cleaning but does not overly detract from overall
pleasing eye appeal. Abrasions are light and typical of AU-level
examples, with the exception of marks on Liberty's chin, neck and
the top of her hair.
