1882 $5 MS65+ PCGS. CAC. PCGS reports only three Gem examples of the 1882 half eagle with a Plus designation, and this is only the second Plus-graded coin in this grade we have handled. It shows rich orange-gold luster and frosty fields, with well-struck design elements completing the ensemble. Gem 1882 half eagles in general are much more elusive than current price structures suggest. Population: 17 in 65 (3 in 65+), 2 finer. CAC: 4 in 65, 1 finer (12/24).(Registry values: P2)
