1852-O $20 AU58 PCGS. Winter-1. Only one die pair is known for the 1852-O double eagle, despite a coinage of 190,000 coins. This near-Mint example would make an ideal New Orleans type coin. Deep straw-gold luster characterizes each side, mellowed only slightly by handling rub. Abrasions are more minimal than usual for O-mint Type One coins. Population: 49 in 58 (1 in 58+), 25 finer (12/24).(Registry values: N1793)
