1863 Reeded Edge Copper-Nickel Cent, PR64
Judd-300, Pollock-360, High Date Variety

1863 1C One Cent, Judd-300, Pollock-360, R.7, PR64 NGC. Struck from regular issue Indian cent dies in the usual copper-nickel alloy, but the edge is reeded instead of plain. High Date variant. All Judd-300 strikes are rare, whether in circulation or proof format. This a most unusual pattern. It is the only proof cent coin struck with a reeded edge. This is a remarkable proof that displays deeply reflective fields on each side. The color, rather than the usual whitish lack of color, is deep yellow-gold in the fields with deep red accents around the devices. Fully struck.
