Splendid Gem 1807 50 Over 20 Half Dollar
1807 50C Large Stars, 50 Over 20 MS65 PCGS. O-112, R.1. The more obtainable of the 50/20 die pairings, particularly in higher grades, being distinguished by a well defined left foot on the 1 in the date and a partially detached upper serif of the E in E PLURIBUS. The die cutting blunder for which this popular Guide Book variety is named is clearly visible. While AU and better examples of the O-112 appear with some regularity, Gems such as this are of the greatest rarity and importance.
