Description
Lustrous 1858-D AU 58 Gold Dollar
1858-D AU 58 PCGS. As with most examples of this low mintage issue, the lower reverse is softly impressed on the wreath. Otherwise, the striking details are only slightly weak on the highpoints of the design. The surfaces are especially vibrant, almost semi-reflective in appearance with bits of reddish patina at the margins. A small planchet flake in the field between the N in UNITED and Liberty's throat has a few hairline scratches clustered around it that are more distracting than the depression itself.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25CJ, PCGS# 7549, Greysheet# 8079)
