1834 $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. Breen-6138, Variety 1, R.1. Housed in an oversized circa-1994 Regency holder with the insert notation "Struck from 'Proof dies, Breen II-1.' The die variety is the Small Head, the first Classic quarter eagle marriage. Proofs were struck from these dies, including lot 5333 in our January 2011 FUN Signature, and lot 5535 from our October 2012 Dallas Signature. Business strikes were also made in quantity. The present piece is certified as a business strike but has reflective fields and an above average strike. Primarily canary-gold although the borders display hints of lilac patina.(Registry values: P1)
