Elusive Low-Mintage Issue

1865-S $10 VF35 PCGS. Only 16,700 Liberty eagles were struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1865,making the issue quite elusive in all grades. This pleasing Choice VF specimen shows some light wear on the hair above the coronet and the curl beneath the ear is worn but well-defined. The lightly abraded surfaces retain traces of original mint luster. Population: 3 in 35, 9 finer (7/15).(Registry values: N2998)
