Description

George II "Lima" 1/2 Crown 1746 XF40 PCGS, KM584.3, S-3695A. LIMA below bust.

The "LIMA" coins of George II, minted in 1745-1746, were made from silver captured from Spanish treasure ships during the War of Jenkins' Ear. The silver came from Lima, Peru, which is why the coins bear the inscription "LIMA." as a period form of taunting by the British towards the Spaniards.
