Description
Dramatic 1943-S Nickel on a Type One
Steel Cent Planchet, MS65
1943-S Jefferson Nickel--Struck on a Type One Steel Cent
Planchet--MS65 NGC. 2.8 gm. This 1943-S five cent is a "war
nickel" of a different kind, struck not in copper-silver-manganese
but in steel, on a cent blank of 1943 without upset rim. A
decently detailed example given the unusual circumstances, lightly
toned blue and gold with easily appreciated luster.
